Dressing up is one of life’s most wonderful pleasures. Falling under the spell of a beautiful outfit that is a classic and has been waiting, it seems, just for you to discover it, is rare. We women know a stunning timeless outfit is ‘a great help in almost all circumstances’. For me buying a beautiful elegant outfit is not about acquisition of objects but the transformation of the self. While shopping for a chikan outfit, I was shocked at how thoughtlessly such a beautiful handcrafted embroidered technique was put together. Worn, the outfits felt pretty but insignificant, like an often seen dated look. You might roll your eyes at this, but I’m going to say it anyway : I felt like creating silhouettes in Chikan that are draped, that’s slightly off-the-shoulder, hinting at the collar bone and shoulder, that’s sensuous, traditional yet global. Definitely not boring. I thought vintage yet contemporary, handcrafted luxury. Something that’s been there for years and is yet so now.Chikankaridrapes and saris where one can relish the attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship without breaking the bank. Perfect for special occasions where exclusivity and glamour are king. Setting the scene for romantic Chikankari drapes, with laid back tailoring, for me that is the magic of Chikan when its well cut, styled and draped.
