World Trade Center Mumbai and IAMKHADI in association with renowned designer Archana Kochhar presented WEAVING PEACE – a showcase of Handwoven fabrics in fashion used internationally by Designer Tara Bhuyan from Toronto, Designer Meagan Ollari from Newyork and Designer Mantasha Ahmed from Dhaka on the occasion of 150 years of The Mahatma. Ace designer Archana Kochhar showcased an entire new line of Men’s wear designed in Khadi at “Weaving Peace”. Presented by Ample Mission in association with SS Nagarkar Jewellers, Ms. Smita Thackeray turned showstopper for Designer Archana Kochhar unveiling the men’s line, encouraging women empowerment at the grand finale.
The show looked grand and encouraged Women Empowerment as Smita Thackeray, turned showstopper for Designer Archana Kochhar unveiling her all new Khadi Men’s wear Line during the Grand Finale. The whole event was curated by celebrated violinist Sunita Bhuyan. The event witnessed, his excellency, Bhagat Singh Koshyari (Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra) as the chief guest, Guest of Honor – Arushi Nishank, Kailash Kher, Sudhanshu Pandey, Madhur Bhandarkar amongst others.

Opportunities like this are encouraging for the weavers and assist in showcasing our homegrown fabric “Khadi” on global platforms”, shared Designer Archana Kochhar. “While celebrating Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary, we are also promoting water conservation and women empowerment. What better way to have a female show stopper and female designer unveiling an entire men’s line”, she further added
