There have been times in the past few years where Apple fans have had hints that the iPod touch will come in its new form or at least something will be changed in its design and specifications. They had nearly lost hope as the last change in iPod was three years ago. It seemed that the iPod family was forgotten and done for. Earlier this week people were also expecting some new devices to be launched from Apple. On July 15, 2015, Apple launched its latest iPod touch.

The change came in the form of iPod touch. There have been a plethora of changes in the latest iPod touch. In terms of processing power, the device has taken huge steps forward. The device now comes with the modern 64-bit A8 chip. Compared to the earlier A5SOC, the A8 chip is much faster. Even the camera has been upgraded from 5MP to an 8 MP sensor. Even the quality of the front face camera has been improved. The WiFi support has also been bettered. It now comes with a new higher-speed connectivity. What has remained the same is the general design. The new iPod touch still comes with a four inch size. It also has same 1136 x 640 display and lacks a Touch ID scanner. Most of the internal changes that have been made in the new iPod touch are in line with the iPhone 6.

Other external changes that Apple has made to its iPod are the colours. The new iPod will be available in new colour options such as dark blue, hot pink and gold. The company will also continue with its current silver, black and red options. The fact that the new colours might give sales a slight boost, but it definitely won’t be enough to give them the iconic status which it was earlier.

The iPod touch will start from $199 for the 16GB model and go up to $399 for the 128GB model.
