MSME industries to get additional coal through State-nominated agencies
Since there has been a large demand for coal in the MSME sector, Coal India has decided and assured that it will provide coal to the MSME sector. Coal India Ltd had a meeting with state governments at its headquarters in Kolkata. The MSME sector industries such as brick kilns, food processing industry, line factories, smokeless fuel plants and coke oven units rely heavily on coal for their daily production.
Since there are so many industries in the MSME sector which depend on coal CIL subsidiary companies have entered into bi-lateral FSA agreements with various state governments have nominated agencies to distribute coal to MSME industries according to their requirements.
The MSME industries do not have an access to the Fuel Supply Agreement, since they have not signed it; they had difficulty in getting coal. But, according to this new policy, the MSME industries will get coal from the State-nominated agencies.
