Here we are going to talk about the details of the MSME training programmes which have been offered by the MSME-DIs, in order to train the potential entrepreneurs at a technical and a managerial level. The training programmes which are conducted by MSME are Industrial Motivational Campaigns (IMCs), Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs), Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programmes (ESDPs) and Management Development Programmes (MDPs).

Industrial Motivational Campaigns: The Industrial Motivational Campaigns are organised to identify and motivate those traditional and non-traditional entrepreneurs who have the potential of setting up their own small scale businesses so that they can be self-employed. These programmes are conducted by MSME-Dis. The duration of the programme is of one-day. There is no intake limit and the minimum age for enroling into the programme is 18 years.
Entrepreneurship Development Programme: The main objective to organise an EDP is to nurture the talent of the youth by enlightening them on various aspects of Industrial activity which is required to setup an MSE. A total of 20% of all the EDP’s target is aimed at the weaker sections of the society. No fee is charged to the SC, ST, women and the physically handicapped candidates under these programmes. The duration of the programme is for two weeks and the minimum intake capacity is of 20 people. There is a 100 rupee training fee for general students and no fee is charged from the weaker section of the societies. The minimum age of the trainee should be 18 years.
Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme: Comprehensive training programmes are organised to upgrade skills of prospective entrepreneurs, the current workforce and also develop skills of new workers and technicians. There are tailor made programmes for skill development of the weaker sections of the society. Here again the target group is the weaker section of the society. There are many courses such as Machine Shop Practice, Heat treatments and many more. The duration of the course is about 6 weeks and the minimum intake is 20 people in each programme. The minimum age of a participant should be 18 years.
Management Development Programmes: The objective to impart training on management practice system is to improve the entrepreneurs decision-making skills, in order to remove their productivity. Inputs on a variety of topics on managerial functions are provided to the participants by the experts. The programmes are designed keeping in mind the demands of the area and the local requirements of the Industry. There are various topics that are covered under these training programmes are Industrial Management, Human Resource Management and Material Management among others. The duration of the course is one week or two weeks, depending the type of course. For a full-time course, it is one week and for a part-time course the duration is two weeks. The minimum intake of the students is 20 and the minimum age of the participant should be 18 years.
