Travel site TripAdvisor rolls out a list of top 10 restaurants in Asia Travellers’ Choice for the best fine dining eateries every year. This time around, an eatery from New Delhi — Indian Accent — has secured the second position among the top 10 restaurants in Asia. Curated by world famous chef Manish Mehrotra, it is known for showcasing innovative cuisines by complementing Indian flavours with global ingredients and techniques.
This year’s awards recognised nearly 400 fine dining restaurants, including the top 25 in the world, plus dedicated lists for Asia, Europe, India, Canada, Mexico, Australia,South America, South Pacific, the UK and the US. Award winners were determined by the quantity and quality of reviews for restaurants around the world, gathered over a 12-month period.
Besides Indian Accent, three other Indian restaurants featured among the best in Asia. Chingari from Pune was at the 15th position, Villa Maya from Thiruvananthapuram was at the 18th spot and K3 in JW Marriott from New Delhi secured the 23rd position. Globally, The Black Swan at Oldstead was ranked number one followed by Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons –Great Milton, England and Maison Lameloise – Chagny, France.
According to Hospitality Biz India, the criteria for the restaurants was the quantity and quality of reviews for the food joints from all across the globe, gathered over a 12-month period. Tamra, New Delhi; The Black Sheep Bistro, Panjim; Peshawri, Mumbai; Bukhara, New Delhi; Sea Lounge, Mumbai; Villa Shanti, Pondicherry were the other scorers in the top 10 restaurants from India.
