Gogi ropes in Industrial Department to support MSME sector
Assam has been coping with the high rate of unemployment in the state for some time now. To counter this and create more employment in the state, Tarun Gogi has come up with a plan to involve Assam’s Industry Department and help the MSME sector to generate employment in the state.

He aims to generate more employment in the state through the MSME sector. The idea is to generate more employment opportunities options and avenues in the state. Gogi had a meeting with the officials of the Industry Department of the state in which he asked the officials to remove all the possible hurdles and set up several small scale industrial units in Assam.
Gogi also asked the Additional Chief Secretary to coordinate the project with all the line departments and start the process of setting up small scale industrial units in the state and generate employment avenues in the state.
Gogi has also asked the Industry department to provide land to those who are willing to set up downstream plastic industries in the areas adjoining Guwahati, so that these industries can use the raw materials of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).
Gogi has also asked the Additional Chief Secretary to obtain wax from Numaligarh Refinery Limited so that women can be taught to make candles from that wax. Gogi emphasized a lot on the promotion of micro, small and medium enterprises in the state. He has also instructed to develop infrastructure in industrial estates in a public-private mode, and has assured the help of the government to achieve this target. As of now Assam has around 41,410 micro, small and medium, and 163 large industrial units, respectively.
