Pocket-friendly ways to take care of the heat
The summer is finally here, and no one is being spared by it. From office goers to those who stay at home, everyone has been hounded by the intense summer heat. Summer heat makes you lethargic, which is definitely not good for your work. You sweat and cringe at the thought of even moving away from the air-conditioner. North Indian summers are known for being notoriously hot. What to do when you are out of your home and air-conditioner is not available?
Here we are going to tell you a few tips on how to deal with the summer heat.
Sprinkle some cool water: Sprinkling cold water on yourself, especially on the face is an effective way to cool down your entire body. Whenever you start feeling hot, sprinkle some water on your skin, and it will immediately cool down your body. This is especially useful at night when you don’t have air-conditioner and are not able to fall asleep. Keep the water close to you at night or at least handy, so that whenever you get up because of the heat, you can just take some water on sprinkle it on yourself.
Spray Bottle: This trick is for those who are constantly on the move. This is their best weapon against the summer heat. Get hold of a clean spray bottle and pour some water in it (preferably cold water) and carry it around with you. Whenever it becomes too hot for you, spray some water on your face. It is quite an effective way to cool down instantaneously.
Pour some water on your wrists: This is for that time when you come inside from heat, and you need to cool down. The best way to do this is by running cold water over your wrists. The cold water will help your veins to cool down, which give you relief immediately. Major veins go through the wrist, so it will help to cool down your entire body.
Wet Towel: If you are outdoors and feeling too hot, then the best way to cool down is by applying a cold water towel at the back of your neck. At the back of the neck, we have the medulla oblongata, which controls the temperature of the human body. Hence in order to cool it down, you can place cold water towel at the back of the neck. You can also place the towel on the forehead. It will help to cool down the blood which flows into your brain, which in turn will cool down your body.
Stay in the shade: Remaining under the shade might not be possible all the time, but if you can, try and stay in the shade. Also, restrict your movements as much as possible, since it tends to drain the energy from the body. If you want to do exercises, try to do them early in the morning when the temperature is relatively cool. By doing this, you will prevent your body from overheating.
