PIO who are making their mark in the top companies of the world
With Indians celebrating the appointment of India-born Sunder Pichai as the CEO of Google, there were others before him who have been are heading top companies across the world. Pichai has joined the elite group of Indians who are CEOs of the top companies in the world. The 43-year-old Indian has joined the likes of Indra Nooyi, Lakshmi Mittal, and Ajay Banga among other Indians who are at the helm of affairs in large companies.
Here we are going to give you a list of CEOs of Indian origin who are heading top international companies.
Satya Nadella (Microsoft) – Satya Nadella is the current CEO of the tech giant Microsoft. He was appointed the CEO on February 4, 2014. Nadella was born into a Telegu speaking family in Hyderabad. His father was a civil servant in the Indian Civil Services. Before becoming the CEO, he was Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group.

Indra Nooyi (Pepsi Co) – Nooyi is the current Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of Pepsi Co, the second-largest food and beverage company in the world. Nooyi was born into a Tamil-speaking family in Chennai. Nooyi had joined PepsiCo in 1994 and was named the CFO in 2001. She has also been awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2007 by the then President of India.

Ajaypal Singh Banga ( Master Card)– Ajay Singh Banga is the current president and Chief Executive Officer of MasterCard. Banga before his appointment as the CEO of MasterCard was the Chief Operating Officer of MasterCard. He became the CEO on July 1, 2010. Banga succeeded Robert W Selander who had been MasterCard’s Chief Executive Officer since March 1997.

Piyush Gupta (DBS Group) – Piyush Gupta is the current Chief Executive Officer and Director of DBS Group. He has been the CEO of the company since 2009. In 2014, he was named the Singapore Business Leader of the Year. He has done economic honours from St. Stephen’s Delhi and post graduation from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Under his leadership, the DBS Group has gone from strength to strength.
