IIFA Rocks 2016 Gets Bigger And Better With An Electric Mix Of Fashion And Music Extravaganza
The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) has announced the 17th Edition of the most spectacular celebration of Indian Cinema worldwide that will occur in the capital city of Madrid, Spain from 23rd to 26th June this year
IIFA Rocks has always been a star-studded affair with a mix of fashion, music and dance. It is a celebrated global event that has been growing each year. To reveal some of the exciting details about the upcoming Videocon d2h IIFA Weekend, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was joined by Anil Kapoor who together shared their excitement about the IIFA celebrations being held in Spain end-June. The two friends were joined by Shilpa Shetty, young icons Tiger Shroff, Abhay Deol and Sooraj Pancholi. Music sensations Meet Brothers, Kanika Kapoor, Monali Thakur, and Benny Dayal too joined the media event to share their joy about performing at the IIFA ROCKS in Madrid.
This year, the IIFA Rocks stage will include noted music director-composer-singer Pritam who is performing with Spanish artistes in a once-in-a-lifetime on-stage production. Performances include the hit songs of the Meet Brothers featuring Kanika Kapoor with Benny Dayal and Neeti Mohan among others. National-award winner Monali Thakur and Papon will be serenading the audience. To add to the star-studded affair, Parineeti Chopra and Sooraj Pancholi are set to perform at IIFA Rocks and Elli Avram and Daisy Shah will perform the hit songs of the year. Alongside the gamut of musical acts and dance performances, distinguished Indian fashion designer Vikram Phadnis will showcase a breathtaking fashion show marking his 25 years in the fashion industry.
The revelries are well underway, as IIFA this year, will also showcase a special teaser screening of the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film – Mirziya. IIFA Stomp, which is already bringing famous musical acts with its collaboration with Mulafest will be highlighting another key aspect of Indian culture with a special yoga Master class with Shilpa Shetty in Madrid.
Recreating the magic of Indian cinema, the 17th edition of the Celebrations will play host to some of the most celebrated stars of the Indian film industry, notable guests, and dignitaries from India and the region, world media and Indian cinema fans from across the globe.
Additionally, another facet of the IIFA extravaganza is all set to make its way to Madrid. Bringing together the best of Spanish and Indian culture is the IIFA Stomp in collaboration with MULAFEST Urban Trends Festival, organised by the MULA community and supported by IFEMA with a line-up that underlines its electronic heart, with pioneering artists from the international scene- Indian DJs and musicians like Raghu Dixit Project, B.R.E.E.D, Midival Punditz featuring Karsh Kale and friends, and Nucleya at MULAFEST.
With the perfect destination to host the gala celebrations, the International Indian Film Academy is all geared up to unfold and present a breathtaking amalgamation of two richly diverse countries and cultures. The event this year aims at bringing the magic of Indian Cinema to Spain and opening doors for Indian cinema across Europe and Latin America.
