The fact is that many people when they talk about cricketing legends, they attribute it to those batsmen who have a huge amount runs under their belt, and have proven their mettle over a considerable period of time.

With a meaty bat to assist and the introduction of the T20 format more and more batsman are developing a knack for hitting sixes.

Adam Gilchrist: At number 10, we have the former Aussie batsmen, Adam Gilchrist. The swashbuckling south-paw has hit 149 sixes in 287 matches. He has also hit 1162 fours throughout his career.
Chirs Cairns: At number 9 we have the tainted Kiwi all-rounder Chirs Cairns. He has blasted 153 sixes in215 matches and 193 innings. He has managed to hit only 345 fours in his career, but considering hecame into bat at number 8 position, he had a good record.
Brendon McCullum: At 8 we have another Kiwi, Brendon McCullum and the current New Zealand skipper. McCullum has hit 158 sixes in 232 matches and 201 innings. He has hit 462 fours in One-Day internationals.
Ricky Ponting: The Australian legend has smashed 162 sixes in 375 matches and 365 innings. He has hitstaggering total of 1231 fours in his career. Punter is at number 7
Mahendra Singh Dhoni: The current Indian captain has hit a total of 177 sixes in 250 matches and 219 innings. Dhoni has hit a total of 637 fours. He currently holds the 6th position.
Sourav Ganguly: At number 5 we have Ganguly. He has hit 190 sixes in his career, in 311 matches and 300 innings. He is also one the highest hitters of fours with a total of 1122 fours.
Sachin Tendulkar: The Master Blaster has broken almost all the records, when it comes to hitting sixes in One Day Internationals he was unable to break the record of most sixes. With a total of 195 sixes in 463 matches and 452 innings he comes 4th. With 2016 fours he holds the record of hitting the most fours.
