Harvard issues statement, denying the whole incident
In a major embarrassment to the RJD Chief Laloo Prasad Yadav, his eldest daughter Misa Bharti allegedly claimed that she had delivered a lecture at the prestigious Harvard University. A local newspaper in Bihar claimed that Bharti had given a lecture at the India Conference at Harvard. The spokesperson from the varsity has blatantly denied the fact. According to the spokesperson, Bharti had to purchase the ticket worth $160 to be in the audience.
Bharti’s name did not even include in the speakers list. The controversy started when Misa Bharti had released her photographs on her Facebook page, and stated that she had been invited at the India Conference as a speaker. This is the first ever incident of her after she lost the Lok Sabha elections from Patliputra last year.
The photographs that have been uploaded on her Facebook page show that Bharti is apparently addressing the gathering. The caption on one of her photograph read, “Giving a lecture on the ‘role of youth’ at Harvard”.
The officials from the Harvard University are not taking the incident lightly. They claimed that after the conference was over, Bharti went onto the stage and asked a friend to click her photographs, as if she was giving some lecture.
The spokesperson from the varsity said that Misa Bharti did not deliver any lecture hence; no local newspaper in the United States has even covered it. Also they do not have any official photographs or videos of Bharti giving a lecture. The Indian conference at the Harvard University took place on March 7 and 8.
Some of the speakers in the conference were, Kiran Bedi, Rahul Bose, former Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan, former National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon, Ambuja Cements Limited CEO Ajay Kapur and Bharatiya Janata Party National Secretary Ram Madhav.
