In the times of Donald Trump and Ben Carson, we really needed something like this to rekindle our faith
Young Max was inspired by his father’s profession. He loved how being a journalist let his father visit new places and meet new people. In an interview with H.O.N.Y (Humans of New York) he expressed his desire to interview the director of NASA and ask him if any rockets are going to be launched in space
Max was ecstatic when the director of NASA showed up for an interview. Max was laid back and relaxed like a professional journalist in the interview and he had some interesting info to share
“I learned so much but I’m going to focus on a few things. First of all, I learned that in 2030 we will be on mars! Next, Administrator Bolden (a very nice man) told me that 90% of the film, The Martian is real except the size of the dust storm because the atmosphere is too dense. After the interview, we went to the NASA Headquarters’ Space Operations Centre, where I watched the sunrise live from the space station – they see it 16 times a day.”
This might have changed the boy’s life forever, it must have ignited a passion that will guide him for the years to come, and there are already murmurs of a Pulitzer H.O.N.Y had to fight an intense bidding war to secure the rights to their own story. Truly they are changing one life at a time, instead of just saying so.
It is through gestures like these that we inspire the youth to explore.
